Packing for a vacation can be a bit stressful… It takes weeks of planning, budgeting, and shopping for the perfect items. I’m always unsure of what to bring, and I suffer from extreme overpacking… However, I have found that if I make a list a month before I leave, I am actually mentally as well as physically prepared. Lucy and I are heading off to Europe in two weeks and I have been shopping for the perfect summer items as well as some basics. So whether you are going to Cabo, New York, or going on a European vacation like us, this list I have compiled will help you with the clothing/accessories side of summer packing!
Let’s start with the basics:
-A pair of underwear for everyday you will be gone, plus three extra.
-A plain bra, a strapless bra, and a bralette and/or bandeau.
-A loose fitting white t-shirt. (When in doubt pull it out!)
-A few plain tank tops that can go with or under anything.
-A comfortable dress.
-A pretty skirt.
-A black sweater.
-A black blazer.
-Two pairs of jeans: One blue and one black. (I prefer skinnies!)
-Two pairs of cut off shorts: One blue and one black. (Vintage Levi’s are my favorite!)
-A bathing suit. (If you are going somewhere tropical bring tons!)
-One pair of pajamas for every 4-5 days you are gone.
-Four pairs of shoes: Boots, heels, sandals, and comfortable walking shoes.
-Socks.
-A hat.
-A pair of sunglasses.
-A belt.
-Two purses. (One for everyday & one that is a little more formal.)
-Your everyday jewelry. (A watch, earrings, favorite necklace, favorite ring, etc.)
Now for everything else:
Obviously you must cater this list to where you are going. Keep climate in mind! If you are going somewhere cold bring a few pairs of tights for under shorts and dresses, if you are going somewhere hot pack a little lighter. Also, keep in mind the duration of your trip, bring more or less if needed. Use your judgement.
-Bring around one top for everyday you will be gone. (Wear the same bottoms and change up the tops! This will make you feel like you have a ton in your suitcase without going overboard.)
-Some awesome skirts and dresses that you can dress down or up. (Bold colors and patterns will look great in photos!)
-Some trendy accessories that can change the look of any outfit (A faux collar, a bow tie, scarfs, cat eye sunglasses, a dramatic belt, etc.)
-A few extra items that you are currently in love with!
Some extra tips:
-Bring all valuables (purses, jewelry, sunglasses) in your carry on!
-Try to bring materials that are wrinkle free.
-Bring a lint roller.
-If rain is a possibility, bring an umbrella.
-Don’t bring brand new shoes, you don’t want to have to break them in on vacation!
-Bring clothes you know you will wear, this is not the time to try out an outrageous trend.
Here are some items I plan on rocking this summer in Europe:

Oui/Non Belt and Bow Collar are from ASOS. Blouse, skirt, and dress are from ModCloth.
