Today marks the first day of summer! We decided to celebrate the longest day of the year by taking a look at swimwear “Ads of the Past.”
Jantzen Swimwear was the leading swimwear manufacturer of the greater part of the 20th century, and they still exist today! In 1911, Jantzen and Bentz Knitting Mills began making knitted swimsuits.

In 1920, Jantzen introduced the Diving Girl logo, designed by George Petty, it quickly became an American icon.

Pinup artist, George Petty, not only designed the Jantzen logo, but also did many of the company’s illustrations in the 1940s.
